Ibiza and Formentera have started a week marked by atmospheric instability, with almost constant rains, risk of storms and a contained thermal environment, as reported by the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet).
From Tuesday and at least until Sunday, a sustained episode of rainfall is expected, which has forced to activate the yellow warning for heavy rains.
The most intense episode was scheduled for this Wednesday, with a yellow warning from midnight to 14.59 hours. The forecast calls for rainfall that could reach 20 liters per square meter in just one hour.
Throughout the day, the probability of rain remains above 75%, accompanied by a northeast wind of up to 25 km/h, which could accentuate the thermal sensation of cold and bad weather.
Thursday could bring a slight lull, although the rain will not disappear completely: the Aemet forecasts a 50% chance of precipitation in the early morning and 45% during the day, without ruling out occasional showers.
Minimum temperatures will drop to 12ºC, while maximum temperatures could reach 18ºC, with moderate wind from the east and northeast.
On Friday, instability will intensify again, with a 60% chance of rain in the morning and 75% in the afternoon. The atmospheric situation will remain without great thermal changes, with minimum temperatures around 10ºC and maximum temperatures up to 18ºC. The wind will blow lightly to moderately from the northeast.
Weekend without respite
Saturday and Sunday are expected to be the wettest days of the week, with a 100% chance of precipitation in both cases.
Highs will not exceed 16ºC, completing a week dominated by water in the Pitiusas.
