The City Council of Sant Josep de sa Talaia opened a sanctioning file after detecting an illegal dumping on a dirt road near the area of Platges de Comte, as reported by the Consistory in a statement. The municipal services found an accumulation of construction debris, plastics, cardboard and other materials, deposited in a point not enabled for treatment.
During the inspection, the municipal operators found documentation that made it possible to identify the presumed company responsible for the dumping, which has made it possible to move forward with the sanctioning procedure. The City Council qualified the facts as a serious infringement, in application of the Municipal Ordinance on Waste and Street Cleaning, with a proposed penalty of 5,000 euros, the amount foreseen for this type of infringement.
Absolute prohibition of depositing waste in unauthorized areas.
The City Council recalled that it is completely forbidden to abandon or dump waste in public or private spaces not enabled, including roads, plots or forest areas. These practices deteriorate the natural environment and damage the image of the municipality, especially in enclaves of high environmental sensitivity such as Platges de Comte.
The Consistory reiterated the importance of using the insular network of deixalleries or authorized managers for those materials that are not part of the ordinary municipal collection, since these circuits guarantee a correct and safe management of waste, avoiding environmental damage and possible sanctions. The City Council appealed to the collective responsibility of both individuals and companies to prevent uncontrolled dumping and preserve the natural environment of the municipality.
