The City Council of Ibiza has donated to Caritas a total of 561 unclaimed lost objects, including books, wallets and handbags, after they remained for more than two years in municipal custody without their owners recovering them. The delivery has been made in Ibiza, as reported by the Consistory itself in an official statement.
As detailed by the City Council of IbizaThe donated items correspond to objects found in different parts of the municipality and deposited in the lost and found service, but it was not possible to locate their owners despite attempts made during the established legal period.
The mayor of Ibiza, Rafa Triguero, stressed that this initiative combines the responsible management of municipal resources with a charitable purpose, allowing objects in good condition to be reused. In this sense, he has pointed out that “a second life is given to items that can be useful for many people”, reinforcing the collaboration with Caritas in the social field.
The donation is part of the usual actions of the City Council once the lost objects exceed the legal period of custody without being claimed, avoiding their destruction and favoring their use by social entities working with vulnerable groups in the municipality of Ibiza.
