Ibiza takes another step forward in its commitment to maintain connectivity during the winter, adding two new international destinations to its schedule: Frankfurt and Munich. These connections, operated by Eurowings, will offer weekly flights that seek to attract both the German public and facilitate the departure of residents in the quieter months of the year. With these new routes, Ibiza airport will be connected to a total of 16 destinations this winter, divided between national and international cities. This schedule includes direct flights to key European destinations such as London, Zurich, Paris and Eindhoven, thus expanding the options for travelers who prefer the island even outside the high season. The airport has increased its offer with more than 1,660,000 seats, representing a 5% growth over last winter. This figure is in addition to more than 11,500 air operations, ensuring that the movement of aircraft does not stop in the off-peak months.
Winter tourism on the rise
Ibiza continues to demonstrate that its appeal is not limited to the summer months. The airport’s director, Marta Torres, stressed in dialogue with El Periódico de Ibiza that the expansion of international flights reflects steady progress in winter connectivity. She also stressed that international traffic will experience a significant increase of 29%, strengthening Ibiza’s position as a destination open to tourism all year round. This evolution is framed within the forecasts of the Association of Airlines (ALA), which predicts a record winter season in the Balearic Islands. Ibiza will contribute to this growth with 8.2% more seats available compared to the previous season, consolidating its commitment to maintain a diverse and attractive tourist offer at any time of the year.
