The Ibiza Airport has closed the month of November with an outstanding increase in activity, registering 251,253 passengers, which represents an increase of 5.6% over the same month of the previous year. This figure reaffirms the importance of the facilities as a strategic point for the island’s national and international connectivity. Of the passengers registered, 251,040 used commercial flights, with 216,626 travelers on domestic connections, representing a growth of 3.6%. However, the most significant increase was observed on international flights, which reached 34,414 passengers, 20.4% more than in November 2023. The Netherlands led international traffic with more than 11,700 passengers, followed by the United Kingdom, with 8,700, and Germany, which added 6,700 travelers.
Increase in operations and annual balance sheet
Aircraft traffic also recorded a significant increase. During November, the airport handled 3,005 flights, an increase of 9% compared to the same period last year. This growth is evidence of a sustained recovery in air activity on the island.
As for the annual balance, between January and November 2024, the airport received 8,829,031 passengers, 1.5% more than in the same period of 2023. The accumulated operations during these months reached a total of 80,319 flights, consolidating the airport’s position as one of the main connection points in the Balearic Islands.
National context and outlook
At the national level, the Aena Group’s airports have also recorded outstanding growth. During November, they handled 26,433,304 passengers, 8.7% more than in 2023. This increase reflects a significant recovery in the air sector, which remains on the rise after the challenges of recent years. Ibiza Airport continues to position itself as a benchmark in the region, not only for its international connectivity, but also as a key driver for the local economy and tourism. With this data, growth prospects for 2025 look promising, further boosting Ibiza’s relevance in the national and international aviation landscape.
