A 25-year-old woman of Italian nationality continues to be admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of the Policlínica Nuestra Señora del Rosario after suffering a serious accident in the Avenida de Cala Tarida, in the municipality of Sant Josep.
The accident occurred on Tuesday while the young woman was riding a scooter in the area. According to the first information, the vehicle involved fled without providing assistance, which has activated the investigation by the Local Police of Sant Josep.
An 061 ambulance was sent to the scene of the incident, which attended the victim and rushed her to the hospital. On arrival, the doctors confirmed that she had a burst spleen and hemodynamic instability, so she was immediately operated on by the General Surgery team.
Hospital sources have reported that the patient remains stable within gravity in the ICU, where she continues under close medical supervision.
Local police are continuing their investigation to locate the hit-and-run driver.
