La Peña Deportiva continues to restructure its squad in this winter market to face the second round of the Second RFEF. This Thursday, the club presented its two new additions: winger Óscar González Piera, known as Gonpi, and right back Xavi Estacio, both 23 years old.
Oscar Gonzalez
Coming from Olot, a team of the same group in the Second RFEF, Gonpi is a versatile player in the offensive front. Trained in Catalan soccer, he has stood out for his ability as a winger and his ability to occupy different positions in attack.
During the first round of the season, he participated in 14 games with Olot, accumulating experience in the category. With a trajectory that includes playing for teams like Vilassar de Mar in Tercera RFEF and Cerdanyola, where he made his debut in Segunda RFEF, Gonpi arrives at La Peña with the aim of providing speed, creativity and depth in attack.
Xavi Estacio
Valencian Xavi Estacio joins the team after his time with Lleida, a team with aspirations in Group 2 of Segunda RFEF. Trained in the youth ranks of Valencia CF, Estacio has experience in higher categories such as the extinct Segunda B and Primera RFEF, where he played for clubs like Eldense, San Fernando and Recreativo Granada. With more than 20 games played in Primera RFEF and an outstanding participation in the lower categories of the Spanish national team, from U-17 to U-20, Estacio is a solid reinforcement for the Peñista defense, providing both technical quality and competitive experience.
An impetus to change course
With these two additions, Peña Deportiva seeks to improve the results obtained in the first half of the season. The coach is confident that Gonpi and Estacio will adapt quickly to the team and contribute to consolidate a squad that aspires to climb positions in the table.
