The Ministry of Health and the autonomous communities, including the Balearic Islands, have reached an agreement on Tuesday to implement a Common Protocol against influenza, COVID and other respiratory viruses, a document that sets four risk scenarios and incorporates measures ranging from the use of masks to the recommendation of teleworking in phases of increased transmission. According to Health, the objective is to adapt the response to the epidemiological evolution in each territory and to reinforce the healthcare capacity. What is included in each risk scenario
The document contemplates four phases. At the baseline level, the usual preventive measures – vaccination, epidemiological surveillance and personnel training – are maintained, and surgical masks are recommended for people with symptoms and for symptomatic workers in health care centers.
At the low or medium level, institutional coordination and communication with the public is reinforced, in addition to intensifying the use of masks in the workplace.
