The ONCE Cuponazo draw, held last Friday, December 19, has left a shower of millions in Ibiza, specifically in the municipality of Santa Eulària des Riu, where 9,160,000 euros have been distributed thanks to the winning number, 32,658.
In total, the prize has been distributed among 80 winning coupons, one of them graced with the main prize of six million euros, while 79 other tickets have been awarded with 40,000 euros each, making this draw one of the largest held on the island this year.
The person in charge of bringing luck to dozens of neighbors has been Susana González Báez, ONCE saleswoman since 2005, who usually distributes in her kiosk in Paseo de S’Alamera, in Santa Eulària.
Excited, she confessed after learning the result: “I have made more than one person happy today, and that is what satisfies me the most,” she said.
According to González herself, part of the winning coupons were sold to regular customers in the area, places where she usually leaves coupons every week.
“I’ve never handed over so much money before.”
Although it is not the first time that Susana gives out prizes, it is the most relevant occasion of her career: “I had never given out so much money,” she said. Her excited gesture has become one of the images of the day in Santa Eulària, where the news has spread like wildfire among neighbors and merchants.
Paseo de S’Alamera, one of the busiest areas of the municipality, has witnessed the commotion and joy generated by this historic distribution, which will remain engraved in the memory of many residents.
