A total of 134 students from educational centers of Ibiza and Formentera have been recognized this Thursday with the Awards for Effort and Academic Achievement, during a ceremony held at the Espai Cultural Can Ventosa. The ceremony, organized by the Department of Education and Universities, awarded students who have stood out for both their academic results and their personal commitment to learning.
Among the winners are 29 primary school students, 91 secondary school students, 2 high school students, 8 vocational training students and 4 adult education students, as reported by the Balearic Government in a press release.
Presentation of diplomas with institutional presence
The event was attended by the Regional Minister of Education and Universities, Antoni Vera, accompanied by the Regional Secretary for Educational Development, Mateu Suñer, and the Director General of Vocational Training and Educational Planning, María Isabel Salas. Also in attendance were island representatives such as the territorial director of Education in Ibiza and Formentera, Juan Álvarez Gómez, the councilor of Culture, Education and Heritage of the Consell de Ibiza, Sara Ramón, and the councilor of Education and Social Welfare of the Consell de Formentera, Maria Cristina Costa.
During the gala, which publicly recognized the work of the students and the support of their families, two dance performances were offered by students of the Professional Dance Conservatory of Ibiza and Formentera, who performed pieces from the ballets Coppèlia and Sleeping Beauty.
The award ceremonies will continue on Monday in Menorca, where the students distinguished for their academic performance will also be honored.
