The Federation of Colles de Ball and Popular Culture of Eivissa held this Sunday the II Meeting of Colles, a day that confirms the good health of folklore on the island and the growing involvement of their groups. After the success of the first edition in 2023, the call this year has exceeded all expectations, bringing together about 220 people between federated groups and non-federated colles who wanted to join the event.
Growth and consolidation
The day took place in the marquee of the Fairgrounds of Eivissa (FECOEV), where the festive atmosphere was combined with the most traditional essence of local culture. In addition to a multitudinous popular paella, there was no shortage of “sonadas” and country dances that took place without pause throughout the day, uniting participants from different generations.
From the organization has highlighted the “very positive” assessment of the meeting. The Federation stresses that the purpose of this event is not only festive, but seeks to “close ranks and create associative fabric”, strengthening collaboration between the various folk groups of the island and consolidating a cultural network that works throughout the year.
A space of continuity for folklore
With this second edition, the Federation of Colles reaffirms its commitment to the preservation and dissemination of country dancing, betting on a meeting that aims to continue growing year after year. The high participation and the convivial atmosphere confirm that folklore in Eivissa is going through a moment of vitality and that these initiatives contribute to keep alive the traditions that define the local identity.
