Spain faces Christmas with one of the most intense cold spells in the last 15 years: what temperatures are expected and why
In a message posted on his official account of X, Prohens has quoted part of the lyrics of the song Fa un fred de neu, by the Mallorcan singer Jaume Anglada, who last August was run over in Palma and remained hospitalized for more than a month, an episode that generated a broad show of social support in the Balearic Islands.
“The Mediterranean in the background, the bells of La Seu. Today the son of the Mother of God will be born. “The President of the Autonomous Executive wrote, accompanying the text with a Christmas image.
A message focused on reunion and care
The leader of the Govern explained that the musical fragment chosen reminds her “more than ever what really matters”, in reference to the importance of mutual care, closeness and reunion during these important dates of the Christmas calendar.
According to Prohens, Christmas is a time to appreciate “how lucky we are to have each other” and the need to “take care of each other”, in a context marked by the personal and collective events of the last year in the islands .
A Christmas illustration in front of Llotja de Palma
The Christmas message of the President of the Government has been distributed together with an illustration by the artist Alex Ollers, which represents the birth of Jesus located in front of the Llotja de Palma, with the cathedral as a backdrop, in a composition that mixes religious tradition and historical heritage.
Prohens stressed that the work “transforms the great Gothic temple into a nativity scene”, inviting us to stop and observe with a different look the closest and everyday spaces of the urban landscape of Palma.
“It invites us to stop for a moment and look with fresh eyes at what is closest to us,” the president added in her message.
Institutional messages for Christmas in the Balearic Islands and at the national level
The Christmas greeting concluded with an institutional wish: “May this Christmas be a time of peace and illusion, Merry Christmas to all”, said Prohens in her publication.
Also the president of the Congress of Deputies and secretary general of the PSIB, Francina Armengol, has spread her Christmas greetings through social networks. In her message, Armengol has wished “moments of joy, calm and reunion”, accompanied by a video with the institutional greeting of the lower house.
The socialist leader closed her message with a greeting of “Happy Holidays” in Spanish, Catalan, Basque and Galician, in a publication also disseminated through X.
