One in five tourists who visited Ibiza this season came from the United Kingdom, as reported Friday by the Consell Insular in a statement on the occasion of the upcoming celebration of the World Travel Market fair in London, from 5 to 7 November. Until September 30, 833,259 Britons visited the island, 0.41% less than in 2023, a figure “practically similar” to the previous year, according to data analyzed by the Tourism Intelligence Service of Ibiza (SITEivissa), of which the president of the Consell de Ibiza and head of Tourism Promotion, Vicent Marí, has reported this Friday. Marí explained that the total number of tourists arriving at the airport of Ibiza between January 1 and September 30, 21.73% were British, which “means that one in five tourists comes from the UK. He added that this visitor profile spends an average of 221 euros per person per day, in stays of 3.7 days on average and has a “high degree of satisfaction” of their experience on the island, with a score of 90 out of 100, according to the latest barometer of the Tourism Analysis of Eivissa and Formentera (ATEIF). The president stressed that once “confirmed” the importance of British tourism, at the London fair will focus on promoting the family segment, “which represents 25% of the total” and is characterized by longer stays, as 45% stay more than a week. Spending per person per day also stands out, given that it is 30 euros higher than the average, reaching 251 euros. In fact, according to SITEivissa data, the vacations of a British family cost 2,410 euros on average, added from the island administration. The Consell de Ibiza will have its own stand of 116 square meters at the World Travel Market in London with the presence of ten co-exhibitors: six private and four municipalities. The main event will take place on November 6 at 18.00 at ‘The Mandrake Hotel‘ under the title ‘Embrace the authentic Ibiza‘, where there will be a meeting with 40 prescribers, journalists and specialized travel agents. The aim of the event will be to appeal to the link between Ibiza and the United Kingdom, taking into account that 64% of the families surveyed on the island were repeat visitors, and that there is “a significant degree of intergenerational relay” among these travelers. To reflect this, a video will be shown with families, young couples, older couples and hoteliers in Ibiza, explaining the link between the island and the British.
