The Ibizan swimmer Sofia Maria Juan Garcia, from the Portus Swimming Club, has closed her participation in the LXVIII Championship of Spain Absolute “Open-p25 Astralpool”, where she competed in the 50 meters backstroke, recording a time of 30.87 seconds, a mark that the club described as outstanding.
The sports organization stressed that “their presence in this national event represents an important recognition of the effort and dedication shown throughout the past season”.
From Ibiza, they highlighted the relevance of such a young athlete reaching an absolute championship at state level.
An exceptional experience at age 14
With only 14 years old, and being still a child, the swimmer of the pitiusa had the opportunity to face some of the best swimmers of the national scene, a sporting experience that very few young people can experience.
The club emphasizes what it means for an athlete of her age to compete in such a demanding environment.
Therefore, the Portus Swimming Club expressed its satisfaction with the performance of the young athlete and sent a message of recognition: “We want to congratulate her for her excellent work and commitment, and express the pride of having an Ibizan representative in a competition of such a high level”.
