Sant Antoni officially welcomed Christmas this Friday with the traditional lighting of lights in the Passeig de ses Fonts, where the Mercat de Nadal, the space of the Playful Elves and the Tree of Good Wishes were also inaugurated. The event, held from 6.30 pm, gathered a large audience, mostly families, who enjoyed Christmas carols, live music and activities for the little ones.

After the lighting of the tree and the Christmas lights, several school groups offered a recital of Christmas carols, on a day that also served to open to the public the booths of the Mercat de Nadal, where products of restoration, crafts and local commerce are offered.
During the first day, the little ones enjoyed themselves in the Playful Goblins area, where activities such as sack races, workshops, storytelling and traditional games were organized. The City Council has announced that every non-holiday Monday will be Children’s Day, with free access to the attractions.

With this inaugural event, Sant Antoni activates a Christmas program that will run until January 6 and includes theatrical performances, sporting events, solidarity activities and the traditional celebrations of New Year’s Eve and Epiphany.
