The Local Police of Sant Antoni de Portmany has initiated a special control device of botellones and surveillance of minors that will be carried out during the weekends, with the aim of preventing the consumption of alcohol on public roads and ensure neighborhood rest.
The first operation, carried out on Saturday night, resulted in 62 people being identified and 33 reports of alcohol consumption on public roads, of which 25 involved minors. In addition, the agents processed a complaint for violation of Law 4/2015 on Citizen Security and issued a record of seizure of a vaper.
The device, coordinated by the Minors Unit, was deployed at various points of the municipality, including the bus station, Passeig de la Mar and Sol Post Park, where actions focused on the prevention of risk situations and compliance with municipal ordinances were carried out.
From the City Council of Sant Antoni have explained that these controls will be maintained throughout the winter season, as part of the reinforcement announced by the Department of Public Safety, in order to increase police presence on weekends, holidays and events with large crowds.
The consistory has emphasized that the objective of these actions is to reinforce coexistence and safety in public spaces, as well as to protect minors and ensure compliance with municipal regulations.
