The City Council of Sant Josep has opened the registration period for the traditional Rúa de Carnaval, which will run through the streets of Sant Jordi next Friday, February 28 from 16:30 h.
This event, one of the most anticipated of the festive calendar, invites the entire community to participate in a day of color, creativity and fun, with a total of 6,000 euros in prizes for the best costumes and floats.
A parade for the whole community
The Carnival of Sant Jordi is an unmissable event in the municipality, where school groups, cultural associations, families and neighbors join the parade with original costumes and floats decorated to detail. The route will start from Cas Sac street and will go through the main streets of the town, passing through the Airport road and the Plaza Mayor, ending at the Vicent Serra avenue.
In addition to the parade, the day will include entertainment shows with the performance of Mag Albert and the music of Ivan Roman DJ, who will put the rhythm to the party. To regain strength, the Penya Esportiva Sant Jordi will offer food and drink service to attendees.
Registration open until February 24
Those interested in participating in the parade have until February 24 at 2:00 p.m. to formalize their registration. Individuals must register in person at the Sant Josep Town Hall or at the municipal offices, while entities and associations may register electronically.
It is important to note that those who register after the deadline will be able to join the parade, but will not be eligible for the contest prizes.
Prizes for the best “comparsas” and floats
Participants will compete for cash prizes, with amounts ranging from 250 to 900 euros, depending on the category. A jury composed of members of different social entities of the municipality will evaluate the originality and staging of each group, and will announce the winners the same day of the rúa through the social networks of the City Council.
