Santa Eulària, pioneer in housing subsidies in Ibiza
The Consistory of Santa Eulària is currently the only one on the island of Ibiza that promotes this type of direct financial aid for the purchase of housing, in order to promote the emancipation and life projects of its citizens. Since 2021, the City Council has already allocated 195,000 euros to this program, which has benefited more than 60 families.
The economic endowment is contemplated within the plan ‘Santa Eulària Crea Futur’, a municipal strategy aimed at facilitating access to housing through various tools, including rental subsidies, grants for the return of young talent or the promotion of Housing at Limited Price (VPL).
“Committed to decent housing.”
Miguel Tur, accidental mayor of the town, has stressed the social value of the initiative: “This aid demonstrates the sensitivity and commitment of Santa Eulària to facilitate access to decent housing to those who may need it most,” he said .
Tur also emphasized that the municipal effort in housing policies is not limited to these specific aids, but is part of a comprehensive strategy, which also includes other structural measures for access and residential maintenance.
“Making it easier for people to live and develop in the municipality is a priority,” insisted the mayor.
