The music festival to be held on floating platforms christened as San Miguel’s Dayannounced for September 28 at the Port of San Miguel in Ibiza, lacks the necessary permits for its celebration.
To this small detail that has been minimized by the City Council of Sant Joan is added other aspects that are suspicious to say the least: the opacity of the two marketing agencies hired by the brewery that are behind the environmental processing of an event held in one of the most protected areas ( Special Protection Area for Birds (SPA)). According to the report published on the event’s official websitethe marketing agency Yellow was in charge of managing the Environmental Impact Document of the festival.
This media requested a copy of the Environmental Impact Document from the Yellow agency.
The answer is that the document was actually the responsibility of another marketing agency: Probably. Neither one nor the other have responded to repeated requests from La Voz de Ibiza to clarify the leftovers in relation to the environmental processing of the festival permits.
Despite the fact that they are expert marketing agencies in communication.
Yellow and Probably: two specialized marketing agencies
Yellowfounded as a creative marketing and branding agency, has traditionally worked on advertising campaigns and visual communication projects.
Its expertise is focused on brand building and content strategy development.
It does not have a track record of conducting environmental studies or ecological impact assessments.
For its part, Probablywhich began managing the festival’s communications in 2023, also describes itself as a marketing and advertising-oriented agency, focusing on generating content strategies for brands.
As well as Yellow, Probably has no previous experience in the management of environmental assessments or technical reports of this type.
Lack of transparency and doubts about the report
The refusal of Yellow y Probably to provide clear information on the environmental environmental impact document has been striking, especially considering that the festival will be held in a protected environment.
Although it is possible that both agencies may have used external environmental consultants to prepare the report, their lack of transparency creates uncertainty.
La Voz de Ibiza attempted to obtain more details, but so far it has not been possible to confirm whether the report was prepared by trained personnel or whether it complies with the legal and technical requirements for an event of this nature.
Both agencies, which specialize in marketing, have no track record in environmental studies, raising doubts about the validity of the sustainable measures announced by San Miguel.
Among the promises are the use of environmentally friendly floating platforms and recycling systems, but without access to technical documentation, claims about the environmental impact of the event cannot yet be verified.
