SOCIAL COMMITMENT

The Abel Matutes Foundation and Palladium Cares present to the Consell de Ibiza their Annual Report 2025

With this presentation, the social identity of the hotel chain and Fundación Abel Matutes, reaffirm their commitment to the social and environmental development of the island.

Representatives of the Abel Matutes Foundation and Palladium Cares, the social identity of Palladium Hotel Group, recently met with the president of the Consell de Ibiza to present the Annual Activities Report 2025. During the meeting, they explained the progress made throughout the year and reinforced the collaboration between the hotel group and the island institution with the aim of promoting the social welfare of Ibiza.

Although the Abel Matutes Foundation has expanded its activities to all of the group’s international destinations, Ibiza continues to concentrate most of its activity, with a priority focus on culture, research and sports on the island.

Social impact: training and community support

In 2025, one of the most important milestones came from Caritas with the inauguration of the new Training Center, which since November 3 has been offering professional training to people in vulnerable situations. In addition, several employees of the hotel chain taught the practical part of courses such as floor maid or kitchen assistant, strengthening the link between the company and social action.

The Abel Matutes Foundation and Palladium Cares promoted 46 social, 12 cultural and 27 sports projects throughout the year, demonstrating the diversity of their impact on the local community.

The “4 Causes 4 Quarters” campaign , carried out in the island’s hotels, also generated significant results. Thanks to this campaign, 18 projects were carried out, involving 118 volunteers who contributed to the well-being of 279 people after investing more than 406 hours of activity.

Customers and employees: a commitment that multiplies results

The participation of customers was fundamental. Through the “Check-Out Euro” program , active in hotels such as TRS Ibiza Hotel, The Unexpected Ibiza Hotel and Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel, visitors contributed 12,985 euros between January and October, all of which went to local initiatives. At the same time, the “Guest of the Month” action allowed 10 families -a total of 33 people- to enjoy free stays at several of the group’s hotels.

On the other hand, corporate personnel promoted three volunteer actions, in which 34 employees participated and which benefited 115 people.

Environmental protection and sustainability

In environmental matters, the Foundation reinforced the protection of the Pitiusa lizard, increasing the number of traps to control invasive snakes and taking care of the shelters installed in the hotels. It is also working on new initiatives to recover and protect the Posidonia oceanica.

The fight against food waste also made significant progress. The agreement with OREKA made it possible to donate 2,149 meals, equivalent to 1 ,239 kg of food, which prevented the emission of 3,162 kg of CO₂. To this figure is added the surplus delivered after the close of the summer season.

After the presentation, the president of the Consell Insular expressed his satisfaction with the results and highlighted the great social impact of the actions developed. He also encouraged the Foundation to expand its work in the environmental field, especially in projects related to Posidonia.
