The City Council of Santa Eulària des Riu has completed the expansion of the municipal cemetery of Cas Llaurador, an action that has allowed the incorporation of 80 new niches to the funeral enclosure in order to ensure the provision of an essential service and adapt it to the population growth of the municipality.
The intervention has consisted of the construction of two new independent modules, each consisting of 40 niches, located within the current cemetery grounds, specifically in the area corresponding to the latest expansion. The works have been executed by the company Aldaba Obras Reunidas S.L. and have involved a total investment of 99,952.32 euros, VAT included.
The Consistory points out that this expansion responds to the constant and sustained increase in demand recorded in recent years, a circumstance that made it necessary to adapt the municipal infrastructure to ensure an adequate service to citizens.
The construction of the new niches was classified as a priority work by the Municipal Technical Services, as it was considered essential to anticipate future needs. With the completion of this action, the City Council guarantees the availability of space in the medium term and reinforces its commitment to the planning and maintenance of basic public services.
