The Three Wise Men have visited this Monday the Can Misses Hospital in Ibiza, where they have distributed gifts to children admitted in the Pediatrics and Neonatology units and have toured various services to convey a message of encouragement to patients and families on the eve of Three Kings Day, as reported by the Health Area of Ibiza and Formentera.

The Sant Antoni Three Kings parade is moved to January 6th due to bad weather conditions.
Their Majesties of Orient have been received at 15.30 hours at the main entrance of the hospital, by the manager of the Health Area of Ibiza and Formentera, Eduardo Escudero; the deputy director of Nursing, Abraham Fuentes, and the mayor of Ibiza, Rafael Triguero, before starting the tour of the various units of the health center.
The tour at Can Misses
The royal retinue made a previous stop at the Intensive Care Unit, where they visited Xisco Tur Planells, a 59-year-old patient who has been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit for four months. The King and Queen have given him a gift and have conveyed messages of support and wishes for recovery, in a gesture that has been received with emotion.
The tour continued in the Pediatrics and Neonatology Unit, where four admitted children received their first Epiphany gifts. Chloe, one year and nine months old, received an interactive book; Luciana, seven years old, a Stich stuffed animal; while Sebastian, thirteen days old, and Usaid, only six days old, received stuffed animals with lights and sounds adapted to their age.
Occupancy in this area of the hospital is low at this time of year, with only four beds occupied out of the 24 available, which means a 16% occupancy rate on the eve of January 6, a common circumstance at Can Misses Hospital during the Christmas holidays.
After the visit to the children’s areas, and at the initiative of the Never Alone Association, Melchior, Gaspar and Balthazar visited the Internal Medicine F and G and Traumatology units to greet the elderly patients admitted to these wards.
During this tour, the Three Wise Men gave the vice-president of Nunca Solos, Mari Carmen García, a total of 120 gifts, which were later distributed by the association’s volunteers among the hospitalized people, as part of an initiative aimed at humanizing the hospital stay during the holidays.
