Palma has been consolidated as the most expensive destination in Spain to stay during the Christmas holidays in 2025, with an average price of 278 euros per night, according to the latest Price Index prepared by the vacation rental platform Holidu.
The Balearic capital tops the list ahead of Barcelona, with an average of 265 euros, and San Sebastian, with 230 euros per night, making it the city with the highest accommodation in the country during these dates.
Madrid, the most sought-after destination
In terms of demand, the report places Madrid as the most sought-after destination for Christmas and New Year’s Eve travel, with an average rate of 222 euros per night.
It is followed by Malaga, with an average price of 164 euros, and Granada, which completes the podium of the most sought-after destinations with an average of 170 euros per night. The ‘top 5’ is closed by Valencia (156 euros) and Benidorm (133 euros).
Andalusia dominates the national ranking
The study also includes a regional analysis, in which Andalusia stands out as the region with the greatest presence among the most sought-after destinations: seven cities appear in the national ‘top 30’, including Malaga, Granada, Seville, Jerez de la Frontera, Cordoba, Cadiz and Conil de la Frontera.
For its part, the Valencian Community contributes six destinations to the ranking, with prices ranging from 109 euros in Peñiscola to 156 euros in Valencia city.
The cheapest options for travel in December
At the opposite end of the price table, Murcia is positioned as the most affordable option for those looking to travel in December, with an average price of 106 euros per night. Following it are Peñíscola ( 109 euros), Conil de la Frontera (113 euros), Cádiz (115.5 euros) and Tarragona (120 euros).
The Holidu report thus reflects a marked difference between destinations during the Christmas period, with Palma leading the increase in the price of holiday accommodation in Spain at a key time for domestic tourism and end-of-year getaways.
