Ibizan photographer Salva Carbó has been selected as a finalist in the LUX Awards 2025, considered the most prestigious awards for professional photography in Spain, in the category of Architecture and Interior Design. His work, which won first place in the Building subcategory, will be unveiled on December 4 during a gala event at the Museu del Disseny DHub in Barcelona.
The Ibizan photographer who shines again at LUX
Carbó, with more than two decades of trajectory, already won a LUX Prize in 2019, which reinforces his position as one of the outstanding names in architectural photography. His work, focused on the island’s light and landscape, has become a creative hallmark. “The light of Ibiza, with its purity and unique warmth, is my inexhaustible source of inspiration,” recalls the photographer.
A work still “classified” by the rules of the contest
The finalist photograph remains under strict confidentiality, a standard requirement of the LUX Awards, which prevent the work from being released prior to the gala. Carbó says that the piece addresses the future and the housing situation in Ibiza, one of the most sensitive social issues of the territory.
The LUX Awards, organized by the Association of Professional Photographers of Spain, recognize since 1993 the most outstanding works of the country in categories such as architecture, advertising, documentary or portrait. Considered a statewide reference, its awards have inspired generations of photographers and have become synonymous with creative excellence.
