The Popular Party has assured that the judicial confession of Víctor de Aldama confirms that the Government presided by Francina Armengol allowed public money from the citizens of the Balearic Islands to end up enriching the plot linked to the ex-minister José Luis Ábalos and his ex-advisor Koldo García, through the purchase of masks during the pandemic.
This was stated by the general coordinator of the PP and spokesman of the party in the Parliament, Sebastià Sagreras, who pointed out that Aldama has acknowledged before the judge that the profits obtained from the sale of masks were distributed among the members of the plot and that part of these funds came from contracts signed with the Balearic Government during the Armengol stage.
“Today we know that the money of the citizens of the Balearic Islands ended up converted into commissions and kickbacks for Ábalos and Koldo,” stressed Sagreras, who has denounced that, in his opinion, “none of this would have been possible without the collaboration of the Government of Armengol”.
In this regard, the ‘popular’ spokesman has accused the regional executive of “opening the door wide” and recalled that the then Councilor for Health, Patricia Gomez, received the members of the plot “with institutional honors”. He has also pointed to the former councilor of Finance, Rosario Sanchez, as the person responsible for delivering European funds, which, according to the PP, shows that “it was a chain of political decisions that facilitated the looting”.
Sagreras has insisted that, as the judicial procedure advances, “the plundering of the purchase of fake masks for the Balearic Islands is confirmed”, in reference to the contracts signed during the most critical moments of the pandemic.
“The citizens deserve to know who allowed their money to end up in corrupt pockets and who looked the other way while the Balearic Islands was used to enrich a plot,” concluded the PP spokesman, who called for the immediate assumption of political responsibilities.
