The Prado Museum will close 2024 with a new all-time attendance record of approximately 3,400,000 visitors, some 62,000 more than at the end of 2023.
To the figure of 2024, we must add the visitors of other initiatives dependent on the Prado, as the institution warns. In the month of December is the second time that the Prado exceeded its historical visitor figures, according to sources at the gallery told Europa Press. On December 9, the gallery surpassed, before the end of the year, the maximum figure recorded in early December by raising the figure to 3,258,328 visitors compared to the 3,241,263 recorded in 2023. At the end of 2023, the Prado recorded a total of 3,337,550 visits and thus surpassed the absolute record, as the previous record was that of the year of the Bicentennial celebration, with 3,203,417 people.
