The workers of Mutua Balear will return to the streets this Thursday to demand the updating of the salary tables of the post complement, a remuneration system signed in 2021 and which affects more than 500 employees throughout Spain. The mobilizations, called by UGT and CCOO, will be held at 11.30 am in front of the work centers of Palma and Ibiza.
As reported by UGT in a statement, both unions have asked the entity’s management to ask the Ministry of Inclusion and Social Security for authorization to renegotiate the salary tables, with the aim of adjusting them “to the current reality of the functions, responsibilities and workloads”.
The unions denounce that, during the last few years, there have been “important labor and organizational transformations” that have not been reflected in the current salary structure. They claim that the job allowance is currently distributed unequally and leaves out some 200 workers, even though they perform functions “of equal complexity and specialization”.
UGT and CCOO therefore call for a fair and equitable redistribution of the allowance, so that the remuneration adequately recognizes “the dedication, responsibility and complexity of each function”. To achieve this, they consider it “essential” to modify the calculation and scoring factors that determine who receives the allowance and in what amount.
The union organizations are confident that the management of Mutua Balear “will attend to the request with a willingness to dialogue and consensus”, as has been usual in labor relations within the company. However, they warn that the mobilizations will continue if there is no response that allows to start the salary renegotiation.
