The XXII Second-Hand Vehicle Show began today at the Ibiza Fairgrounds, after its official presentation this morning in a ceremony led by the Councilor for Economic Promotion and Municipal Cooperation, Maria Fajarnés, along with the president of the Association of Workshops of PIMEEF, Miguel Angel Escandell, the secretary of the association, Pablo Pavón, as well as representatives of the companies participating in this edition. This annual event, organized by the Consell de Eivissa in collaboration with PIMEEF, seeks to consolidate itself as a reference space for the purchase of high quality second-hand vehicles on the island.
A necessary boost for the island’s automotive sector
During the presentation, Consellera Fajarnés stressed the importance of the event in the current economic context, in which the sector is still facing the effects of the pandemic and inflation. “This fair is a commitment by the Consell to support the island’s automotive sector, offering citizens an opportunity to acquire vehicles in good condition at affordable prices,” Fajarnés stressed. According to the organizers, last year’s event was a great success, with an estimated sale of between 50% and 60% of the vehicles on display. This year, the numbers are even more promising, as the offer has increased to 160 vehicles, providing potential buyers with a varied selection ranging from utility vehicles to high-end options.
Variety of overhauled and guaranteed vehicles
In this edition, the show has the participation of six leading companies on the island: Avantcar, Grupauto, Plataforma Rent a Car, Proa Premium, Tanit Automoción and Can Repro, which have presented a wide range of vehicles, including passenger cars, commercial vehicles, sports cars and other high-end vehicles. As explained by Miguel Ángel Escandell, President of the Association of Workshops, “those interested will be able to find vehicles with prices ranging from 6,000 euros to luxury models, which represents a great opportunity for the public”. In addition, all the vehicles on display have been checked and have warranty certificates from the organizing companies, which ensures the quality and reliability of the cars on sale. This initiative is also a way to strengthen the second-hand market in Ibiza, providing residents and visitors with an opportunity to acquire vehicles in top condition without having to resort to the mainland market.
Free access and extended hours for visitors
Access to the show is free, and opening hours will be from 10:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. during the three days of the fair, allowing attendees to explore the different vehicle options available at their leisure.
