The City Council of Sant Josep has recognized this Tuesday the centenary of Catalina Torres, a resident of the municipality, with an institutional visit led by the mayor, Vicent Roig, and the Councilor for Social Action, Family and Equality, Marilina Serra, coinciding with the day she turned 100 years old, as reported by the Consistory in a press release.
During the meeting, held at the home of the honoree, the City Council presented a bouquet of flowers and a commemorative plaque, a symbolic gesture with which the institution wanted to value the life of Catalina Torres and its link with the municipality of Sant Josep over a century.

Recognition for a lifetime of stories
The Councilor forSocial Action, Marilina Serra, stressed during the visit that “it is an honor to celebrate such a special moment with Catalina and recognize her life full of stories and experiences that are part of our municipality,” stressing the importance of such events to make visible the elderly and their contribution to the local community.
The City Council of Sant Josep has pointed out that this recognition is part of the municipal commitment to policies of care and support for the elderly, a group that occupies a central place in the actions of the Social Action area.
