The Local Police of Palma is investigating a 37-year-old woman for allegedly causing a traffic accident under the influence of alcohol and threatening the officers who intervened in the action, claiming to know a judge and a prosecutor to try to avoid the complaint.
The events occurred in the early hours of last Sunday morning in Manacor street, when the vehicle driven by the woman collided with a cab that was stopped, as reported by the Local Police.
The officers on the scene found that the driver, a Spanish national, showed obvious symptoms of alcohol intoxication and maintained an aggressive and defiant attitude during the police intervention. According to the police report, the woman repeatedly threatened the police officers, trying to prevent the intervention by alleging that she had influence in the judicial sphere.
Subjected to breathalyzer tests, the driver gave a positive result of 0.84 milligrams per liter of exhaled air, a rate three times the maximum permitted limit and well above the criminal threshold.
As a result of the facts, the vehicle was immobilized and taken to the municipal depot, while the Attestations Room forwarded the report to the Duty Court, where the woman will have to answer for an alleged crime against road safety.
