The Dakar Rally 2025, which will be the 47th edition of the toughest competition in the world, will be held from January 3 to 17. In addition, it will be the sixth consecutive version in Saudi Arabia, after its passage through South America, and promises to be one of the toughest of those disputed in the Middle East. Ibiza will have two crews this year. On the one hand, the Ibizan Toni Vingut will be co-driver in the buggy category of the famous Catalan driver Gerard Farrés, with 18 Dakars to his credit. While in the classic car category, the couple formed by the Ibizan Sandra Guasch and her driver and husband Matías Rodríguez (Matt), originally from Fuerteventura, residents of Ibiza, at the controls of a Mitsubishi L-200 pick-up vehicle.

Both couples will compete in the infrastructure of the“Team Pedregá” with possibilities of opting for relevant positions in the classification. Last Saturday the vehicles embarked from the port of Barcelona. None of them set limits to their aspirations, although they are well aware of the difficulty and unpredictability of the most important race in the Rally-Raid world, given the experience they all already have. Toni Vingut changes the quad for buggy co-driving due to the elimination of the Dakar from the quad category, in which he had done meritorious positions in previous editions. Sandra Guasch and Matias Rodriguez will compete for the second consecutive year in the “Classics” category after achieving in the previous edition a 30th place overall.
