Vibra Hotels has begun construction of its new hotel in a historic building of great architectural value in the old town of Seville. With an opening scheduled for Easter 2027, this project is shaping up to be a benchmark for hospitality, art and Sevillian identity, fusing history, culture and modern comfort.
The building chosen is the iconic building of La Unión y el Fénix, next to Plaza Nueva and Avenida de la Constitución. Designed in 1938 by architect Fernando Cánovas del Castillo and engineer Eduardo Torroja Miret, a pioneer in the use of reinforced concrete in Spain, the building has nearly 7,000 square meters. The building permit, approved in January 2024, requires the preservation of protected elements such as the original concrete structure and the characteristic southwest staircase eye.
The hotel is within walking distance of the Cathedral, the Giralda and the Santa Cruz district, in a privileged location to enjoy the cultural, artistic and gastronomic richness of Seville.
With this project, Vibra Hotels not only rehabilitates a historic building, but also reinterprets it with innovation and contemporary aesthetics. The history of the building thus becomes the starting point for a new concept of accommodation where art and design will be the true protagonists.
Uhotel that unites design, art and Sevillian tradition
The new establishment will have 113 exclusively designed rooms designedto provide an elegant and comfortable stay. Each space will reflect the essence of traditional Sevillian architecture and craftsmanship, combined with modern luxury elements.
Its facilities include a rooftop with a swimming pool and panoramic views of the historic center, a gourmet restaurant inspired by Andalusian flavors, a wellness area, a gym and conference rooms designed for business and cultural events.
The objective of Vibra Hotels is clear: “to offer each guest an authentic experience, where the warmth of the south is combined with excellence in service”.
Culture, sustainability and Sevillian soul
Local art will be the protagonist. Vibra Hotels collaborates with Sevillian artists dedicated to painting and traditional arts, such as the embroidery of flamenco shawls. Their works will dress the rooms and common areas, turning each room into a visual journey through the Sevillian identity.
In addition, the project is based on sustainability criteria, with energy efficiency measures, use of local ingredients and reduction of single-use plastics.
