The State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) has activated a warning for coastal phenomena of low danger in Ibiza and Formentera for this Tuesday, January 6, due to the forecast of strong wind from the north and significant waves, especially on the north coast of Ibiza. The day will be accompanied by rain.
According to the forecast, the warning will be in force between 18.00 and 23.59 hours, with a probability of between 40% and 70%. During this period, northerly winds of between 50 and 60 kilometers per hour are expected, corresponding to force 7, as well as waves of up to 3 meters.
Although the warning level is low, AEMET recommends extreme caution in coastal areas, avoid nautical activities and pay special attention to the evolution of the sea state, since the episode is part of a broader maritime storm that will affect the whole Balearic archipelago.
The authorities remind of the importance of following the indications of Civil Protection and to keep informed through official channels in case of possible changes in the weather forecast.
