Ibiza and Formentera will experience a Christmas marked by a mild atmosphere, with thermal values above the usual for these dates and the possibility of some episodes of rain. This is indicated by the prediction models of the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET), which forecast relatively stable conditions for the period between Christmas Eve and Epiphany.
Highs of 16 to 17 degrees and lows of around 8 ºC.
AEMET points out that temperatures are likely to remain mild, with maximum temperatures between 16 and 17 ºC, more typical of autumn than of late December, and minimum temperatures around 8 ºC. These figures consolidate the warm trend that has already left the first week of December, also warmer than normal.
The atmosphere will be, in general, pleasant during the day, while nights will be cool but without reaching values typical of intense winter episodes.
Chance of light rainfall: up to 28 liters per square meter
Although a quiet Christmas period is expected, AEMET does not rule out the occurrence of rainfall, which could occur some days during the holidays. The models point to a total accumulated rainfall of up to 28 l/m², the average value of what is usually registered at this time of the year, so no particularly intense episodes are expected.
In principle, it would be weak or moderate precipitation associated with the occasional passage of fronts, with no significant adverse phenomena expected.
A holiday season marked by stability
The forecast for Christmas comes after a historically wet autumn in the Pitiusas, which left record rainfall and a notable increase in tropical nights. However, forecasts indicate that this pattern will not be repeated during the holidays: the islands will enjoy stable weather, with alternating cloudy and clear intervals, pleasant temperatures in the middle of the day and a cool atmosphere at dawn.
