The works for the improvement of the rainwater collection system in the urbanization of Can Rimbaus, in the town of Jesús, will start next Monday, December 15. The project, which has a total investment of 312,626.96 euros (VAT included), has as its main objective to reduce the risk of flooding and protect the buildings in the event of heavy rainfall.
The works will be developed in a first phase until December 23, inclusive, and will be temporarily suspended during the Christmas period. The execution will be resumed the day after Epiphany, January 7, with a total estimated period of three months. The company Aglomerados Ibiza S.A. has been awarded the contract for the work.
The Children and Youth Plenary of Santa Eulària calls for more emotional support, reading promotion and improvements in school spaces.
The action will allow more efficient channeling of rainwater collected in the urbanization, preventing it from affecting Paó, Falcó, Milà and Guatlera streets, some of the areas most exposed to water accumulations. The project defines the necessary interventions to correct the deficiencies of the current system, which has been overtaken by the increase of impermeable surfaces in the surroundings.
According to the Santa Eulària Town Council, the existing networks are insufficient to absorb large volumes of water during heavy rainfall events, which increases the risk of flooding. With this improvement, the aim is to reinforce the drainage capacity and increase the safety of neighbors and homes in the area.

The financing of this intervention comes from the municipal treasury surplus and is part of a set of strategic investments that the City Council is executing in the municipality. These include projects such as the pedestrianization of Sant Carles, actions in Cala Llenya avenue or the construction of a new soccer field, with a total investment of over 13 million euros.
