Formentera looks at the sky: winter astronomic observations

17 December @ 21:00 - 23:00

The Consell Insular de Formentera, together with the Astronomical Association, presents a new edition of “Formentera looks at the sky”, a program of astronomical observations designed to bring the experience of contemplating the universe during the winter months. The activity is free and open access.

The first session will be on December 17, from 21:00 to 23:00 h, in the garden of Ses Eres, where you can observe some of the most outstanding objects in the winter sky: the Orion Nebula, Jupiter, the Andromeda Galaxy, the Pleiades or Sirius. All this can be enjoyed and photographed through a telescope.

The program includes a second date on January 16, 2026 at 21:00 h in Cala Saona, one of the darkest spots on the island, ideal for observing the night sky.

With these proposals, Formentera reinforces its commitment to scientific dissemination and to value its sky certified with the Starlight distinction.

Dates and venues: – December 17, 21:00-23:00 h, Ses Eres Garden – January 16, 2026, 21:00 h, Cala Saona

Free and open to all.
