“Irregular and clientelistic”. This is how the PSOE has described the 2025 budget of the Consell Insular de Ibiza in a document with numerous allegations. According to Elena López Bonet, new socialist spokeswoman in the Consell, the budget contains some thirty legal breaches detected by the General Intervention before its approval and is designed to “serve the policies of the Popular Party, not the needs of the citizens of Ibiza”. Lopez has criticized that the PP councilors voted in favor of the budget despite knowing the irregularities: “It is an accumulation of nonsense, with subsidies and finger contracts and a millionaire injection to FECOEV, which has gone from 4.8 million in 2019 to 12.7 million in 2025 without reasoned justification”.
