Eight people, six men and two women, have been arrested as alleged members of a criminal organization dedicated to drug trafficking between Seville and Ibiza. The Civil Guard reported Saturday that the investigation began after detecting a suspicious package, with a strong smell of marijuana, sent from the region of Aljarafe to the island.
The intervention took place within the framework of operation ‘Osset Posidonia’, activated after agents of the Civil Guard in Seville located a parcel that could contain narcotic substances. Based on this discovery, a surveillance operation was set up on the main suspect, which confirmed the existence of a well-structured criminal network.
The investigation determined that the organization operated with a clear hierarchy. From Seville, several members were in charge of preparing and sending packages with different amounts of dried marijuana through courier companies. Once in Ibiza, another part of the group received the shipments and distributed the drugs to different parts of the island, maintaining a stable and coordinated logistics.
Simultaneous searches and seized material
Once all the members were identified, the Guardia Civil carried out simultaneous searches in four properties located in Umbrete (Seville) and Ibiza. They seized 10 kilograms of dried marijuana, 17,500 euros in cash, different narcotic substances, a detonating pistol and specific cartridges for small arms.
The operation has made it possible to completely dismantle this drug trafficking network that operated between Andalusia and Ibiza.
