This Monday, DC10 has put an end to the leisure season 2024 with its closing party in the year of the 25th anniversary of the legendary Circoloco and a unique line up. Today, Tuesday is the turn of Playa Soleil. And so ends an unparalleled season in Ibiza (not counting the closing festival of Los Felices, on the 18th).
The result for the industry has been spectacular. The dance floors to the sound of millions of customers oblivious to the setbacks in other sectors.
And, moreover, without incident throughout the summer, which attests to the excellent work they do in terms of security in the halls of the island.
JosĆ© Luis BenĆtez, manager of the AsociaciĆ³n Ocio Ibiza, had already anticipated in a recent interview with La Voz de Ibiza that, in view of the closing of the season, a more than positive balance was expected. And so it has been.
“We all see how much leisure moves on this island. We have a magnificent health, the sector is super professional. The big venues have more than 50 security personnel, their own infirmaries and a great control of everything that happens inside. We are talking about 30,000 people partying in Ibiza every night and there are hardly any problems,” he said.
The balance of the long weekend that began last Friday and ended on Tuesday morning is a handful of tickets issued for drug possession and drunk driving.
AsociaciĆ³n Ocio Ibiza estimates that around 25,000 tourists have come to the closing party.
This has led to hotels that, even at this time of the year, are completely booked out, and airline tickets to the island are not available on several airlines.
2025 promises even more: season to feature UNVRS, the world’s first hyperclub
With these numbers and the leisure sector, “one of the great engines” of Ibiza’s economy in excellent health, 2025 promises to make history.
One of the main reasons for them that next season will be the opening of UNVRS, the first ‘hyperclub’ in the world, sister of HĆÆ and UshaĆÆa and that will stand where Privilege and Ku were.
“It will be very positive for the island,” said BenĆtez in his last interview with this media, and added: “The new disco will attract public, people will want to see it and I think that is a guaranteed success.”
