Between today and November 22, young people from Ibiza who have studied outside the island will be able to apply for grants to get a job in the territory thanks to a program of the City Council of Santa Eulària des Riu called‘Return of young talent‘. It is a plan to help young people up to 35 years of age living in Santa Eulària, but who have studied higher education outside the island (or have worked outside for at least one year), to return to the island. Thus, the aim is to get more qualified workers or entrepreneurs with links to Ibiza. In total, a total of 50,000 euros has been initially planned, divided into four different lines. The grants will range from 800 to 5,000 euros, depending on whether the young people are salaried or start their own business and whether they do it inside or outside the municipality. Information is available at www.santaeulariadesriu.com. These grants are part of the plan ‘Santa Eulària Crea Futur‘ to help young people to develop their life plan in the municipality, which includes the construction of Housing at Limited Price, rental aid and aid for the purchase of first homes, among other measures.
What are the requirements for“Returning Young Talent”?
For any of the four lines of Return of Young Talent there are common requirements. The beneficiary must have been registered in the municipality for a minimum of five uninterrupted years before leaving to study. In addition, one must have completed the university degree outside the island or, if done in Ibiza, one must have worked abroad in that profession for at least one year. 50% of the amount granted will be delivered at the time of granting the aid and the rest once the beneficiaries present the justification of having met the criteria that are required in each case.
