In response to the orange alert for risk of storms and heavy rains in Ibiza, the City Councils of Santa Eulària y Sant Josep have announced the suspension of municipal activities and have recommended that private entities follow the same measure to avoid possible incidents. The decision is framed within the indications of the General Directorate of Emergencies, which seeks to minimize travel and reduce risks during this episode of bad weather.
Santa Eulària
In Santa Eulària, the City Council has asked sports clubs, parents’ associations and other organizers of extracurricular activities to postpone their events. In addition, classes at the Municipal School of Music, activities at the Punt Jove and access to the Sala Sant Jaume 72 have been canceled. The Can Planetes Interpretation Center and the Ca n’Andreu des Trull farmhouse will also remain closed, while the Teatro España and other municipal cultural spaces had no programming scheduled for Tuesday.
Sant Josep
For its part, the City Council of Sant Josep has taken a similar decision, suspending municipal sports and cultural activities and recommending external entities to do the same to protect citizens. In addition, it has appealed to follow the recommendations of the Emergency Service 112 of the Balearic Islands and avoid unnecessary travel during the hours of alert, given the risk conditions by the DANA. The measures adopted in both municipalities seek to protect the safety of residents and visitors in Ibiza during this phase of alert for adverse weather conditions, which will remain active as long as the current conditions persist.
