The death of Robe Iniesta, founder and soul of Extremoduro, has reopened old wounds and memories. The group, with a career that started in 1987 and lasted until 2019, decided to put an end to its activities after 32 years of rock, successes and transformations.
The official reason for their separation was crudely expressed: “To work the way we have worked for so long, it is essential to have a very special rapport. Now, that rapport, which is so difficult to achieve and maintain, although it exists, is not the same as the one we have had for so long. “. The band honestly confessed that their union, that intimate complicity that allowed them to create together, no longer existed. That internal rupture, coupled with the ups and downs of the music industry and the loss of key members, undermined what was once a solid and creative project.
In spite of everything, Extremoduro’s music and Robe Iniesta’s voice continue to resonate. The songs are still alive. What was missing was a goodbye. And maybe that goodbye, somehow, we are living it now, with pain, with memory and with the respect that an unrepeatable band deserves.
