“A dos pianos”: the great musical encounter between two Ibizan talents at Can Ventosa

Elvira Ramon and Llorenç Prats will offer a recital of great virtuosity and expressive power, with works by Mozart, Milhaud, Saint-Saëns and Rachmanínov.

The Can Ventosa Cultural Space is getting ready to receive one of the most outstanding concerts of the season. Next Thursday, December 11 at 8.30 pm, the Department of Culture of the City Council of Eivissa presents “A dos pianos”, an extraordinary recital that will bring together two Ibizan piano references: Elvira Ramon and Llorenç Prats. The proposal invites the public to dive into a repertoire designed to show the spectacularity, precision and emotional strength that characterize this instrumental formation.

Two consolidated trajectories with an Ibizan stamp

The pianist Elvira Ramon, trained with Vera Sykora and Stanislav Pochekin, has a degree in piano and solfège from the Conservatori del Liceu in Barcelona. She has developed an intense artistic activity in the Balearic Islands, the peninsula, the Canary Islands and Germany, collaborating with singers, choirs, bands and orchestras. Winner of the Ibiza International Piano Competition and the Antoni Torrandell Competition in Mallorca, she combines teaching at the IES Isidor Macabich with participation in various chamber groups and in the company Art3, specializing in multidisciplinary shows. In addition, he promotes cultural initiatives of reference such as the Santa Eulalia Chamber Music Festival, the Ibiza Youth Music Festival and the Formentera Sona Festival.

Llorenç Prats (Ibiza, 1990) has developed a solid international career both as a soloist and in the field of chamber music. He has performed in auditoriums in Europe and South America and has been a soloist with orchestras such as the Burgos Symphony Orchestra and the Balearic Islands Symphony Orchestra, also standing out for his participation in premieres of contemporary composers. Trained at the Conservatorio Superior de Salamanca -where he obtained the End of Career Award-and at the prestigious Franz Liszt Academy in Budapest, he has worked with renowned figures of the European scene. He is currently a member of ensembles such as the Trio Colombram and the Duo Artemis, while combining performance with teaching at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de las Islas Baleares and the Conservatorio Municipal de Felanitx. His versatility and his commitment to the music of new creation are essential signs of his career.

A vibrant program that traces centuries of musical history

The concert will open with the Sonata in D Major for two pianos by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, an exceptional piece in the composer’s catalog, known for its structural clarity and the perfect symmetry with which both instruments dialogue in a game full of vitality.

This will be followed by Darius Milhaud‘s Scaramouche, an energetic and luminous suite that draws on Brazilian rhythms and combines freshness, technical complexity and an unmistakable festive spirit.

The third work on the program will be the famous Danse Macabre by Camille Saint-Saëns, presented in a spectacular version for two pianos. In it, death plays the violin at midnight to invite the spirits to dance: a fascinating musical narrative, full of tension, irony and dramatic contrasts.

The recital will culminate with Sergei Rachmaninov‘s Russian Rhapsody, a youthful work that displays all the intensity and lyricism of Russian folklore. Its impetuous passages and technical demand transform the two performers into a single sonorous organism, closing the program with a powerful display of virtuosity.
