Next Thursday, December 4, the Can Ventosa Auditorium will host one of the highlights of the Alternatilla Jazz Festival 2025. On that day, the flamenco guitarist Juan Gómez “Chicuelo”, the Menorcan pianist Marco Mezquida and the percussionist Paco de Mode will present in Ibiza their new work, Del Alma ( 2024).
The arrival of this concert on the island is possible thanks to the collaboration of Eivissa Escènica in the local production, a support that allows high-level proposals to reach the Ibizan public.
A trilogy that crosses genres
With Del Alma, the trio completes a trilogy in which they have deepened the dialogue between flamenco guitar and contemporary piano. Far from adding styles, their music crosses them to give rise to a language of its own, where flamenco tradition, classical lyricism and a marked Mediterranean breath coexist.
To this mix is added a repertoire that includes bulerías, rumbas, tanguillos and ballads, which brings dynamism and contrast to the proposal. This musical richness is enhanced in the intimate format of Can Ventosa, whose careful acoustics make it easy for every nuance -whether a gesture, a breath or a silence- to reach the audience with total clarity.
A festival that unites the islands through jazz
This concert is part of the Alternatilla Jazz Festival 2025 program, which between November 21 and December 8 will tour Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza and Formentera, with France as guest country. Thanks to its plural approach and international collaborations, the festival has established itself as one of the cultural references of the Balearic Islands, promoting exchange between territories and enriching the music scene of the archipelago.
In this context, the participation of Eivissa Escènica reaffirms its commitment to live music and projects that bring to the island both national and international talent, thus expanding the cultural offerings for residents and visitors.
