The Casino des Moll is getting ready to live a unique encounter with the memory of the Spanish video game. Next Wednesday, December 3 at 7:30 pm, the entity will host the screening of the first episode of Cinco Duros: The history of video games in Spain and a conference given by its creator, Diego Vargas Pardo, under the title “From Atari to Minecraft: The history of video games for everyone”.
A cultural event designed for both residents and visitors who want to discover the importance of this creative phenomenon.
A cultural reference that vindicates the video game as heritage
Diego Vargas Pardo has established himself as one of the most influential voices in the dissemination of video games in Spain. His Cinco Duros project has managed to build a passionate community around the country’s digital memory thanks to figures that speak for themselves:
-
More than 200,000 listeners on his podcast.
-
More than 28,000 views on YouTube.
-
UNIR Award for the dissemination of knowledge.
-
Collaborations with the National Library of Spain.
-
More than 100 interviews with protagonists of the Spanish videogame industry.
After six years of research, Vargas Pardo has shaped the literary trilogy Los 8 bits, volume 3 of which will be released in March 2026, and has turned Cinco Duros into a true cultural reference. His goal is clear: to place the video game in the place it deserves within the heritage and collective memory.

A meeting designed for all generations
“It is a necessity to discover this invisible history of the video game. We are not talking about games, we are talking about culture “explains the popularizer. His visit to Ibiza comes in the middle of the Christmas season, an ideal time to enjoy a family activity that connects different generations.
The event is open to everyone: from those who lived the birth of the first arcade games such as Pong, to young people who today travel infinite worlds in Minecraft. The proposal combines disclosure, nostalgia and a current look at an industry that continues to evolve.
Free access in the Port of Ibiza
The event will take place at the headquarters of the Casino des Moll, located at C / Barcelona No. 1, Port of Eivissa. The entity is especially grateful for the disinterested collaboration of the Hotel Royal Plaza, fundamental in the organization of the meeting.
Admission is free until full capacity is reached, so it is recommended to come in advance.
A perfect plan to start December celebrating the history, creativity and legacy of Spanish video games.
