The Consell Insular has presented the program of the Christmas Festivities 2025-2026, a calendar that recovers the most intimate atmosphere of these dates with activities that will be deployed throughout the island for more than a month. Culture, live music, workshops for young people, family events and the most awaited traditions will mark the arrival of winter in Formentera.
The kick-off will be on December 1, a particularly symbolic day: the Mininadal will be inaugurated, the show Encendiendo los sueños de la Navidad will be staged and, at 6 p.m., the Plaza de la Constitución will be lit up with the Christmas lights. The festive atmosphere will continue with the opening of the Christmas Market and the concert of Santa’s Band, which will put music to the first big meeting of the season.
On the following day, December 2, the cultural program will take its first steps with the exhibition Joan Marí Cardona: 50 years. 100 images On December 4, young people will be able to enjoy a gingerbread cookie workshop at the Casal de Joves. Already on December 8, the church of Sant Francesc will be the scene of the work Paths of history. Oratori Joan Marí Cardona an opportunity to connect art, memory and tradition in a unique setting.
A Christmas that is built step by step
Youth creativity will again be the protagonist with Christmas decoration workshops scheduled for December 9 and 11. That same 11th, Sant Ferran will host a workshop dedicated to recycling at Christmas and, in the afternoon, the School of Music and Dance will fill the day with Christmas carols.
The week will continue with one of the most anticipated moments for families: on December 12, the living nativity scene of the students of the Verge Miraculosa School will return to the Sala de Cultura (Cinema). And on December 13, music will take over the Christmas Market with a night of concerts by Ritmo de Isla, The Island Rockers and DJ Manceboss.
Local art, school tradition and nights to look at the sky
In the middle of the month, culture will gain momentum with the inauguration of the Collective Christmas Exhibition on December 15 in the “Ajuntament Vell” Hall. School participation will continue on December 16 with the meeting “Cantamos Villancicos”, an afternoon that will end with chocolate for everyone. The Christmas atmosphere will continue on December 18 with the visit of the Magician Albert to the Residencia des Brolls, followed by the arrival of Santa Claus at the Sala de Cultura, which will offer two sessions with chocolate included. The Casal de Joves will screen its Christmas film on December 23, just before tradition takes over with the Caramelles and the Misa de Matines in Sant Francesc on the night of December 24. In addition to the daily program, the island will have three permanent spaces:
