On the occasion of the International Day of Women Entrepreneurs, which is celebrated on November 19, the City Council of Eivissa has organized the day ‘Alas Emprende’, a training and motivational proposal that seeks to boost entrepreneurship of women on the island. The meeting will be held on
Practical training and comprehensive support
The Councilor for Equality, Sara Barbado, explained that “‘Alas Emprende’ is a dynamic and participatory proposal that accompanies women entrepreneurs in all phases of their journey, from initial motivation to the creation of a viable business plan”. The conference, promoted by Alicia Reina, will be structured in three training blocks that combine theory and practice.
In the first block, ‘WINGS for your Idea’, participants will learn how to transform their motivation into a concrete value proposition using the Lean Canvas methodology. In addition, they will receive individual coaching in an express feedback clinic.
The second block, ‘WINGS for your Business’, will address the basic legal and financial aspects of entrepreneurship, with practical exercises and simulations to create a minimum viable business plan.
Finally, the ‘WINGS to Grow’ workshop will focus on branding, communication with purpose and digital tools such as Canva and Meta Business Suite, in order to enhance the presence in social networks and the visibility of the projects. In this last space, attendees will also prepare their ‘Elevator Pitch’, learning how to present their idea in a clear and attractive way to potential investors or customers.
Inspiring stories and grants to boost projects
In addition to the workshops, the program will include a round table discussion entitled “Women with wings: inspiring success stories,” in which several local women entrepreneurs will share their trajectory and experiences. The event will culminate with a TED-like talk, under the title “No fear of flying”, designed to motivate and empower participants to continue moving forward with confidence.
The project will also offer ALAS Inclusion scholarships, which will provide mentoring and personalized accompaniment to three selected women, especially those with social, cultural or environmental impact initiatives. The scholarship recipients will receive direct guidance from Eva Ballarin and Alicia Reina, experts who will guide them in the validation of the business model, strategic communication and the first legal steps of their project.
A commitment to local talent and equality
Councilwoman Sara Barbado stressed that this initiative is possible thanks to the support of the Eivissa Town Hall and sponsoring entities committed to local talent and the economic and social development of the island. She also stressed that the activity is completely free thanks to funds from the Balearic Government’s Department of Families, Social Welfare and Dependency Care, through the Balearic Women’s Institute and the Ministry of Equality, within the framework of the State Pact against Gender Violence.
