The City Council of Ibiza has presented this Tuesday its commercial revitalization campaign for the Christmas holidays, with a program designed to strengthen local trade, attract people to the streets and fill the city with festive atmosphere. The councilman of Commerce and Markets, Àlex Minchiotti, stressed that this year offers a proposal “very lively, combining music, entertainment and illusion to make shopping in Eivissa a pleasant experience and for people to feel that, when strolling, Christmas is present in every corner”.
The presentation took place at the Mercat Nou, accompanied by representatives of the merchants association Eivissa Centre, who showed their support for the municipal initiatives.
Travelling music and shows to liven up the shopping experience
One of the great novelties of this edition is the appearance of the traveling band ‘Santas Band on the road’, which will tour the streets of the municipality on December 14, 20, 23 and 27, as well as on January 3. Its route will include
In addition to this musical bet is the show ‘Nadal a Pedal’, consisting of three illuminated cycle cars that will operate on December 12, 19, 26 and 27, from 17 to 21 hours in the Plaça del Parc. In this same space, on
Special Epiphany entertainment and activities for all audiences
The Christmas program also includes a special Epiphany animation, which for six days will fill the streets with characters like the Grinch and his retinue, designed to accompany last-minute shopping and bring a touch of humor and proximity.
The City Council also recalled that the call for the contest of balconies and Christmas windows, which aims to beautify the city and involve both residents and businesses in creating the festive atmosphere is still open.
Sweepstakes to encourage consumption in small businesses
At the same time, until December 21, the campaign linked to shopping in local businesses will remain active. Ten baskets of local products will be raffled among all participants, an incentive to reinforce proximity shopping.
In addition, there will be a big raffle of 100 shopping carts under the slogan ‘Jo compro a Eivissa’:
-
50 for municipal markets
-
50 to local commerce
For every purchase over 10 euros, customers will receive a ticket to participate. The winning numbers will be determined from the first number of the El Niño draw on January 6, including the 24 numbers before and the 25 numbers after. “We want people to feel that shopping in Eivissa has a return, that every purchase adds up and is the most direct way to give life to our neighborhoods,” Minchiotti stressed.
A Christmas that wants to reflect a creative and welcoming city
The presentation concluded with a small demonstration of some of the actors who will participate in the activities and with the intervention of representatives of Eivissa Centre, who reaffirmed their collaboration in the campaign.
Minchiotti summarized the spirit of the Christmas program: “Our purpose is that these holidays are special in the capital, that citizens feel proud of their city and that businesses receive the support they deserve. Eivissa is a lively, creative and welcoming city, and this campaign wants to reflect exactly that”.
