January shows that Ibiza maintains an intense cultural and social activity even outside the high season. The first month of the year combines traditional celebrations, family proposals, scenic culture and outdoor sports, offering plans for all audiences.
From popular rituals that mark the beginning of the year to concerts, movies and popular races, the island invites you to enjoy its quietest and most authentic version.
Traditions to start the year
The calendar starts on January 1 with the traditional New Year’s dip on the beach of Las Salinas, a well-established event that brings together neighbors and visitors from noon in a festive and relaxed atmosphere.
A few days later, on January 5 and 6, the municipalities of the island celebrate the Three Kings Parades, one of the most awaited moments by families. The parades go through the streets with music, color and candy distribution, keeping alive one of the most deeply rooted traditions of the Christmas holidays.

Family plans during the vacations
Until January 3, 2026, the Ibiza Fairgrounds will host Diverespai, the great children’s leisure space for the vacations. The indoor park brings together inflatable attractions, playgrounds and creative workshops in an enclosure of more than 5,000 square meters, with morning and afternoon hours and special opening on the 1st only in the afternoon.
Beyond the fairgrounds, the family entertainment offer is completed with the Christmas Fair, which offers new attractions and a festive atmosphere designed for families, young people and visitors. The space will remain operational throughout the Christmas holidays and can be visited until January 12, 2026.
Stage culture, film and music
On the other hand, January’s cultural agenda includes outstanding proposals in different stages of the island. On January 2, the Palacio de Congresos de Ibiza welcomes the International Ballet Company with Swan Lake, one of the great classics of universal ballet.

On the same day, the Cine Regio in Sant Antoni will host the first concert of the year of the series Eivissa Dauradaa candlelit proposal starring local musicians.
Cinema also has its space with the Ibicine Festival, which schedules sessions dedicated to short films in Can Ventosa on January 7, 14 and 21, betting on local audiovisual talent.
Classical music returns on January 24 with a new appointment of the cycle Ones de Llum in the church of Sant Antoni, with a repertoire that covers great composers and the participation of guest soloists.
Winter patron saint festivities
On January 17 is celebrated in different parts of the island the day of Sant Antoni, patron saint of animals. The traditional blessing of pets is one of the main events of a festival that lasts for several weeks between January and February and is part of the festive calendar of Ibiza’s identity.

On January 21, the feast of Santa Agnès coincides with the flowering of the almond trees of Pla de Corona, one of the most recognizable landscapes of the winter. The day combines religious events, peasant dancing and popular activities around the village church and its agricultural environment.
Outdoor sports in the middle of winter
January also invites to practice sport taking advantage of the mild climate of the island. On January 11 is celebrated the 5K Race Playa d’en Bossa, a popular race organized by the Athletics Club of Ibiza, with a flat course by the sea.
On the same day and on January 24, the Patronato de Deportes organizes guided bicycle routes, an accessible proposal to explore the rural landscape in company.
The month closes on January 25 with the Pujada al Puig de Missa, a race organized by the City Council of Santa Eulària with distances adapted to all ages and a demanding final stretch to the church.
