La Cursa Patrimoni of the City Council of Ibiza is reaffirmed as one of the great references of Balearic and national athletics. In 2026, for the third consecutive edition, the race will be the venue for the Balearic Islands 10K Road Championships, both in the absolute category and in the U20, U23 and Masters categories, consolidating the link between the island and top-level athletics.
The event, which places Ibiza on the national sports map, reinforces the commitment of the municipality to attract top-level events and offer athletes and fans a unique environment in which to compete. In the last edition, marked by the wind, the Andalusian athlete David Palacio won with a brilliant 30:11 against the Mallorcan Mario Mola and his brother Lucas Mola, while Andrea Romero from Formentera dominated the women’s race ahead of Marina Bagur and Leonor Font.
New: change of date
La Cursa Patrimoni 2026 will be held on the morning of Sunday, March 29 at 9:00 am, a strategic change that seeks to minimize the effect of wind and facilitate fast times. The organization expects to bring together a strong selection of national and international athletes who aspire to place the race among the best 10K in the country.
The circuit, which repeats the layout of 2025, maintains its start in Avenida de España and the finish line in Paseo de Vara de Rey, a one-lap course that combines the charm of Dalt Vila, the promenade and the main streets of the center. A route that stars like Santiago Catrofe or María Forero defined as “one of the best in the country to run fast”.

A sports festival for the whole family
In addition to the 10K homologated and open to popular runners, the day will include the Toni Costa Balanzat race, with a route of almost 5 kilometers designed to increase participation. The free children’s races will also be back, with the aim of promoting the values of sport among children.
The race is part of the World Heritage Cities Circuit, a calendar that unites 15 Spanish cities with this recognition and that highlights the historical and natural heritage of their territories. In this context, Ibiza once again stands out as a top-level sports, cultural and tourist destination.
